My new Gadget : HP Mini Note 2140
Finally I bought ultra-light notebook or commonly known as mini notebook HP Mini Note 2140 with 6 cell battery and 10.1 inch screen at Device Vaganza, an event which was hold by my Company four days ago. At that event, I was given extra discount by the seller for buying that mini notebook so I just need to pay at price USD 450 with exchange rate at that time was 1 USD = 10,400 IDR while the normal price in the market is USD 585. That means I save USD 135 for this case. 
The packets which were received along with mini notebook were soft case bag and another big bag from HP.
My mini notebook is powered by Intel® Atom™ Processor N270 (1.6 GHz, FSB 533, Cache 512 KB) with memory 1GB DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz. The maximum memory for this mini notebook is actually 2 GB but when I asked the seller if I want to add the additional memory, they said that I should go directly to their office as they do not bring the additional memory, so I decided to cancel for this one. 
The storage for this notebook is 160 GB Hitachi Hard disk 5400 RPM SATA with Drive Guard Technology (HP’s 3D DriveGuard accelerometer) which able to loc the ring of the hard disk when there is any vibration. The graphic card is powered by Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 DVMT 64 MB which shared from memory. For Connectivity, this notebook have WIFI Broadcom 802.11 a/b/g which can support the data rate up to 300Mbps, Gigabit Ethernet Marvell Ethernet Integrated Controller (10/100/1000), and also have Bluetooth wireless technology .
This HP Mini Note has surface covered by professional-looking aluminum and magnesium-alloy that make this mini notebook different with the other mini notebook. The screen size is 10.1 inch with resolution 1024×576. At the up of the screen, we can find VGA webcam as built in. This notebook also have nearly full sized keyboard with nearly similar to standard Notebook (92% of standard keyboard). The touch pad buttons is on the left and right instead of underneath and the touch pad can be deactivated or activated by on/off button. At front side of this mini notebook, we can find power button, drive light, and wireless button. On the left side we can find USB port, vent, and audio in/out jack while in the right side we can find Express Card Slot, SD card reader, USB port, LAN Port (RJ45), power connector, battery light, and also loc slot.
HP Mini Note 2140 which I bought is using Windows XP Home as Operating System with 60 days trial of MS Office 2007 and trial of antivirus Mc Afee Total Protection for 30 days. With six cell battery, this mini notebook can be used without recharge for approximately 5 hours. At first time, the 160 GB SATA Hard disk is not being partitioned so there is whole 160 GB as Drive C. When I tried to make partition, I could not get the result as I expected. I don’t know why this 160 GB cannot be partitioned using standard method of partitioning windows XP. Then, I tried to use Partition Magic but I still cannot make partition. After that, my Friend suggest me to use EPM (Easeus Partition Master), a free partition software which look similar with partition Magic. By this software, finally I successfully make partition on my 160GB Hard disk into two partition, 25 GB as Drive C and 124 GB other as Drive D.

Btw,selain 3D harddisk, keyboardny jg dijamin enak dan ndak bakal rusak ampe 10rb ya?

ahh.. HP mininote! temen karib gw punya (hadiah dari lomba gitu), tapi persisnya lupa mininote yang seri berapa.
Ngomong2, suatu saat mininote punya si temen gw ini suka ngerestart sendiri, udah bingung gt.. ternyata pas dibawa ke HP, si CSnya udah ga kaget, kayanya ada kesalahan produksi (sotoy gw). Klo ga salah Mobonya diganti, tapi gratis tis. Moga itu bukan yang seri lo ya ndhy..
Btw, si HP ini emang praktis dan ringan.. laptop lama lu nganggur dong ndhy? Gw bersedia menampung..

Mininote ada dua versi,
Versi yang pake processor VIA dengan layar 8.9 inch dan yang pake processor Atom N270 dengan layar 10.1 inch.
Nah, yg punya temenmu versi yang processornya apa? Moga-moga bukan tipe ini. Sampai hari ini si mini nite ini sih baik-baik saja
Laptop lama ga ada, ada juga PC perjuangan jadul jaman kuliah dulu.

mas mo tanya, saya juga beli HP 2140 (seri yg Energy Star : ada stiker enrgy starnya) tapi ga bisa di partisi yah hardisknya, dah coba pake Easeus, Partition Magic terakhir nyoba pake Paragon Partition Manager tapi ga bisa juga tuh..waktu pake Easeus gimana tuh mas? thanking in advance klo bisa kasi infonya..nuhun pisan..

Aku pakai EPM bisa tuh. Caranya biasa aja, uninstall software partisi yang lain, kemudian install software EPM. Restart dulu laptopnya. Setelah itu jalankan EPM, kemudian resize partition, dan buat new partition. Setelah selesai, jangan lupa klik tombol untuk mengeksekusi di sebelah kiri bawah.

Kalau pake EPM emang harus resize partisi dulu baru yang unallocated dicreate partisi.
CD recovery nya sepertinya ga ada, kata penjualnya recovery nya sudah ada di dalam harddisk (blm ngecek yang ini).

Le, ternyata memory ny cuman 1 slot ya.. dan kudu bongkar (angkat) keyboard ny.. klo mo upgrade (GANTI) 1 GB dg 2 GB..
Kemarin sempet dpt laptop kantor lama, beli 1 GB, nganggur.. klo beli ini.. 1 GB lagi nganggur, hiks

, tukar guling aja memory yang lama dan yang baru dengan memory asli HP yang 2G.
Meski bongkar2 keyboard, kalo yang melalukan di toko resmi HP kan garansi ga void. Labelnya kata penjualnya diganti baru lagi.
Untuk sememtara memori 1 G masih cukup kenceng kok

mas sy mo tanya, saya pake type yg sama, cuma merasa trouble saat menggunakan software2 yg membutuhkan minimum resolution 1024X780, spt bb desktop, modem huawei telkomsel flash, dan beberapa printer hp lainya, kira2 solusinya gmana ya?
