The first Asian Beach Games-Bali
Last week, I went to Bali for three days official working purpose starting from Sunday. At that time, Bali was so many foreigners because that day was Bali bombing commemorate day. Furthermore, Bali will held the first Asian Beach Game at 17 – 26 October 2008. Wow, that will be honor for Bali and Indonesia which has been chosen to organize the first Asian Beach Games. The theme of this first Asian Beach Games is Inspire The World.
The sports which will be hold at this first Asian Beach Games are beach basketball, beach handball, beach kabaddi, beach pencak silat, beach sepaktakraw, beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach waterpolo, beach wrestling, body building, Dragon boat racing, jetski sport, marathon swimming, paragliding, sailing, surfing, and triathlon.
The Games venues are divided into four clusters. The first cluster is Kuta Beach Cluster which is used for Body Building, Dragon Boat Racing, and Surfing. The second cluster is Nusa Dua-Benoa Cluster which is used for Water Polo, Beach Kabaddi, Beach Basketball, Beach Wrestling, Beach Pencak Silat, Jetski Sport, and Paragliding. The third cluster is Sanur Beach Cluster which is used for Beach Volleyball, Beach Sepaktakraw, Beach Handball, Beach Soccer, Marathon Swimming, and Triathlon. And the last venue is Serangan Island Cluster for Sailing and surfing.
The participant of the first Asian Beach Games consists of 42 Country. By the way, how is the winning chance of Indonesia in this First Asian Beach Games? Based on kompas.com, Indonesia at least have a chance of get medals at least nine gold medals coming from pencak silat, beach sepaktakraw, Beach volley ball, body building, Dragon boat racing, jetski sport, surfing, and paragliding. Well, we hope Indonesian team can fulfill this prediction.
